This study aims to establish a theoretical foundation for health consciousness to promote exercise behavior and to derive practical implications based on this framework. Health consciousness was approached as an integrated concept that goes beyond mere awareness, encompassing value recognition of health, personal responsibility, sensitivity to health information, and motivation for self-management. Through theoretical exploration and conceptual clarification, the study confirms that health consciousness plays a critical role in the recognition, decision-making, and implementation processes of various health behavior changes, including exercise. In particular, the integrated health consciousness scale and its identified factors proposed in this study are applicable not only to exercise but also to a broad range of lifestyle habits such as dietary management, stress control, and regular health check-ups. These findings suggest that the scale can serve as a useful tool for designing tailored intervention programs aimed at overall health promotion. The study highlights the importance of viewing health consciousness not merely as a determinant of exercise intention, but as a broader awareness that underpins comprehensive health management in daily life.
