초록
This study examined the relationship between attitude polarization, trust(social trust and political trust), and online political participation among YouTube political video users. The main results are briefly presented as follows. First, attitude polarization did not have a significant effect on social trust, but attitude polarization had a negative effect on political trust. Second, attitude polarization had a positive effect on online political participation. Third, social trust and political trust had a positive effect on online political participation. Fourth, political trust significantly mediated the relationship between attitude polarization and online political participation. In conclusion, attitude polarization weakens political trust, and both social trust and political trust including attitude polarization are predictive factors that increase online political participation. However, when political trust is weakened in the relationship between attitude polarization and online political participation, it can be evaluated that online political participation also decreases.
