공공언어 문장 오류 유형 분석 연구

초록

This study aims to provide measures to improve public language by analyzing the grammatical errors of press releases from central administrative agencies. To this end, this study was based on the analysis of the accuracy of press releases done by the "The 2017 Public Language Diagnosis of Central Administrative Agencies." The analysis of this study is based on two categories used in the public language diagnosis: 'grammatically incorrect expressions' and 'non-Korean expressions.' In the 'grammatically incorrect expressions' category, the errors were classified as the following: 'incorrect particle,' 'omission of sentence component,' 'error in the sequence of sentence constituents,' 'unnecessary sentence component,' 'incorrect conjunction,' 'duplicative expression,' 'modifier and modificand sequence error,' 'incorrect tense.' In the 'non-Korean expressions' category, the errors were classified as the following: ‘translation-like expressions,' ’excessive nominalization,' 'unnecessary Sino-Korean words.' From the analysis of the errors in press releases, it is evident that the public language diagnosis is unable to make a significant difference in improving the level of public language. Thus it is concluded that an educational program elevating the command of Korean of public officials must also be implemented along with the public language diagnosis.
