초록
This study aimed to develop self-efficacy tests for baseball batters and fielders. Five leaders and researchers formed an expert meeting to create self-efficacy tests for batters and fielders, each initially consisting of 12 questions, using a ratio scale measuring strength from 0 to 100% in 10% increments. Data was collected from 388 middle, high school, and university baseball players registered with the Korea Baseball Softball Association. Using SPSS and AMOS programs, the study conducted descriptive statistics, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, independent t-test, correlation, and regression analysis. The results showed that the self-efficacy tests for batters and fielders were finalized with 8 questions each after item analysis and factor analysis. The reliability of the developed tests was .896 for batters and .882 for fielders. The batter self-efficacy test secured validity in distinguishing between excellent and non-excellent players. Both batter and fielder self-efficacy significantly predicted perceived performance, with batter self-efficacy explaining 40.5% and fielder self-efficacy explaining 34.9% of perceived performance. In conclusion, the self-efficacy tests developed in this study reflect the specificity and uniqueness of the sport, making them highly useful for related research, counseling, and player evaluation processes, particularly for systematically diagnosing psychological strengths and weaknesses of players and designing psychological interventions and performance improvement programs.
