고전서사의 경계 확장과 요괴 서사 - 웹툰에 나타난 요괴의 컨버전스를 중심으로
초록
This study set out to analyze monster narratives from the perspective of narrative studies to expand the research boundary of classical narratives and seek after interdisciplinary researches with their neighboring fields of study. Trying to overcome text-based researches in the old system of study departments, the investigator examined the formation process of monsters, patterns of monsters in classical narratives, and monsters reproduced in webtoon works in such methodologies as genre-crossing and interdisciplinary fusion. Analyzed first in the study was the multi-layer nature of monster narratives based on people’ s perceptions of monsters including Korea’s representative monsters such as Gumihos and Dokkaebis. The study then made a list of webtoon works about monsters published on Naver serially in the 2010s and examined the patterns and characteristics of monsters reproduced in these works. It also looked into the convergence of monsters and the derivation and expansion of monster narratives with a focus on webtoon works about ‘Gumihos’ such as Gumiho of A Thousand Years and The Story of Miho.
