A Study on Multiculture in the Poetry of Ha Jong-O With a focus on The Entrants and The Empire

초록

Poet Ha Jong-o represents Korean literature in the multicultural age both in quantity and quality, which suggests that one can predict the present and future of Korean literature in the multicultural age by reading his poems. This study set out to examine the multicultural elements and patterns in two anthologies of poems he published in 2010, namely The Entrants and The Empire, and further the significance and achievements the two anthologies made. The investigator saw that the significance and achievements of the two anthologies were possible thanks to the poet's sharp perceptions of the logic of capital and the order of empire and delved into his perceptions of logic of capital and order of empire and his practice to go beyond them in his works to prove it. Chapter 2 covered his perceptions of logic of capital and order of empire and intensively analyzed the process of the subject legitimizing his exploitation of others in order to fulfill his own desire. Thus the subject's desire expands indefinitely, while the logic of others withdraws indefinitely. Chapter 3 examined his practice to go beyond the logic of capital and the order of empire, particularly emphasizing that multiculturalism is the ideology and reality going against colonialism and that the struggle and practice of multiculturalism should be within the scope of such dualism.
