대학생의 우울증세, 성장기 스트레스 유발사건과 문제음주의 관계 - 부모자녀관계의 조절효과를 중심으로 -

초록

More than 90% of college students in Korea are current drinkers, and accidents due to hazardous drinking are often reported. Most studies of college students’alcohol use focus on examining risk factors; however, more recent research has sought to explore the protective factors that buffer the risks of problem drinking and alcohol-related problems. In keeping with this trend, this study examined the role of students’ relationships with their parents as a protective factor in problematic drinking behavior. A sample of 3,342 college students nationwide filled out a self-administered questionnaire that asked about drinking practices and life problems. Findings indicated that depressive symptoms and adverse childhood experiences were predictors of problem drinking and that the students’ positive relationships with their parents buffered the impact of such life problems on drinking behavior. Implications of these findings are discussed.
