용선문화제를 통해 본 현대 중화민국의 ‘전통문화’ －타이베이시 주미리(洲美里)의 사례를 중심으로－

This study analyzed and considered the relationship between a region and an administrative authority that are going to create new local culture and local festivals using the case of the Dragon Boat Festival in Jumiri located in the suburbs of Taipei by identifying it as a “cultural resource”. The Dragon Boat Festival may be a new urban style festival, and it has begun to be held with the involvement of the Cultural Department of Taipei City since 2004, centering on Gulwon Temple, which has functioned as a temple of the community. However, the Dragon Boat race that has been taking place in this region before this ceremony has its own foundation and this is an historical event that is the origin for the ceremony and goes back to the Ching Dynasty. Concerning the contents of the research, the origin of Gulwon Temple, which has become central to the ceremony, the composition of the current ceremony, the detailed contents of the ceremony investigated by the researcher in 2010, and the origin and succession of the cultural festival were considered. In looking into the change in the contents of this event since 2004, the tourist sports events factor appears strongly, focusing on the Dragon Boat Festival rather than faith in the Dragon god or in Gulwon. Such a phenomenon may be understood as a representative case of a ”new ceremonial culture” in studying the traditional culture of today’s Republic of China.
