The Interpretation of the Chinese Cultural Revolution as a Breakthrough of Thought in South Korea in the 1960s and 1970s -Focusing on Lee Yeung-Hee-

초록

The Chinese Cultural Revolution in the late 1960s was an important moment for the impact of Korean intellectuals to overcome ideologically restricted domain for the development of social theory. That moment was most actively utilized by Lee Yeung-hee. Though his thoughts were disseminated nation-wide with the publication of his Logic of Transform ative Periods, his viewpoint on contemporary China had been already founded during his years as the foreign news editor of Chosun-Ilbo. The Chinese Cultural Revolution made it possible to open up new ground in social thought and to prepare polemic for an anticipated future. Though his arguments on the Cultural Revolution focused on the new model of humanity, they contain valuable implications for the investigation of socialist contradictions. We may find important elements within his ideas on the Cultural Revolution that helped him overcome his internal limitations to understand his times.
