1920년~30년대 한국인 가정의 경제생활

This study analyzes how korean household was maintained and reproduced its economic life in the 1920~1930s by using 22 korean household cases. Enlightened intellectuals of the 1920~1930s emphasized that the head of the household economy to be a housewife. The results, however, shows that the husband was responsible for the operation and enforcement of household economy. In addition, the most of households which actively accepted 1920~1930s’ enlightened discourses like home accounting were upper and middle class households. The study classified the household expenditure into ‘essential expenditure’ - spending for food, fuel, clothing and housing - and ‘relative expenditure’ - spending for education, book, entertainment, medicine, hygiene, tax, utility and miscellaneous items. Analyzing the result, the lower the income level of household was, the higher the proportion of essential expenditure was. The expenditure for food was the largest. It was about one-third of the total expenditure. The contribution of this study is to help you understand the economic lives of korean households in the 1920~30s through actual 22 korean household cases.
