A Study on the Analysis of Interactive Dance Work <A.V.A> using Kinect -Focusing on Laban Movement Analysis-

초록

This study aims to expand the possibilities of using interactive art in the field of dance by systematically analyzing the real time visual feedback of dancer’s movements and media through the application of Laban Movement Analysis (LMA) in the interactive dance work <A.V.A>, utilizing Kinect based motion recognition and TouchDesigner. Through literature research, the four elements of LMA(Body, Effort, Shape, Space) were systematized, and the technical requirements necessary for the process of transmitting movement ro media using ToushDesigner and Kinect were examined. Furthermore, by having the choreographer directly design and code a deep analysis of the real time interaction between the dancer and the media was conducted. This led to the presentation of a new stage language that operates through the interaction of the dancer’s inner intentions and media visuals, facilitated by the combination of technology and the LMA analysis framework. It is expected the these achievements will enhance the artistic completeness and technical reliability of interactive dance art and promote positive significance in interdisciplinary fusion research.
