Keyword Network and Topic Modeling Analysis of Nurse Safety Education Literature

초록

The role of nurses in ensuring patient safety in healthcare environments is becoming increasingly important, highlighting the necessity of developing effective educational strategies. This study aims to analyze key concepts and thematic structures in nurse safety education literature using keyword network and topic modeling analysis, and to derive instructional implications. A total of 1,133 articles related to nurse safety education were retrieved from Web of Science, PubMed, and Scopus databases between 2010 and 2022, and 130 studies were selected for final analysis. R programming was used to extract the titles, abstracts, and keywords of the documents. Keyword frequency and centrality were calculated and visualized using the WordCloud package. Additionally, keyword network analysis was applied to examine the relationships between research topics, followed by network centrality and cluster analysis. The analysis identified simulation, team, practice, knowledge, and skills as key concepts. Furthermore, interprofessional collaboration training, nursing skill enhancement programs, and simulation-based case education emerged as dominant research topics. This study suggests that nurse safety education is evolving beyond simple knowledge transmission to emphasize practice-oriented experiential learning and collaborative competency development. The findings are expected to serve as a foundational resource for developing effective instructional strategies in nursing education.
