GuanYanLiezhuan, featuring the famous ministers of Qi – Guan Zhong and Yan Ying, is not a plain biography that objectively records their achievements. This should be understood as an extension of BoyiLiezhuan. Sima Qian borrowed the story of Boyi revealed the reason and purpose of the creation of liezhuan. People's stories are left behind because there was someone who recognized their value. Sima Qian assumes an important role in telling their story. In the following GuanYanLiezhuan, Sima Qian delivers a message through carefully selected anecdotes. He deliberately selected the case for the efficient delivery of his message. Among the audience and Yan Ying's actions, the message conveyed with the keyword knowing person is not just about expressing resentment, but also includes advice for correct politics.
