의사결정과 결정오차에 관한 정약용의 사상 연구: 형사사건의 판단을 중심으로

초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate Yakyong Jung's thoughts and insights about judgment and decision making and, further, reinterpret them from a modern perspective. For this, this study investigated Jung's ideas on criminal judgment and decision making represented in his well-known books, entitled "Mokminsimseo" and "Humhumsinseo." The results indicated that he already addressed and discussed many important issues covered in the current research on judgment and decision making. First, he recognized "bounded rationality" embedded in human judgment and, moreover, pointed out errors in governor's judgment and decision making. Second, he classified decision errors into false negatives and false positives and demanded efforts to minimize both errors. Third, he also attempted to find the appropriate trade-off between false positives and false negatives. Finally, he pointed out important judgmental heuristics that cause decision errors including selective attention to irrelevant information, spurious correlation between cues, and omission of important information.
