This study highlights a reproducible thin film formation process called transfer lamination that transfers target materials using a hydrophilic elastomer polymer mediator. In order to limitation of conventional spin-coating that induces unexpected disorder of thin film structure and damage to the adjacent chemicals, the transfer-lamination is developed by transferring a ternary active layer composed of PM6 (polymer donor), EH-IDTBR (guest acceptor), and BTP-4F-12 (host acceptor) from the polymer mediator onto a substrate. The stable thin film with an overturned surface phase obtained via the transfer-lamination improves the charge transport and blocking capabilities of organic photovoltaics (OPVs) and organic photodetectors (OPDs). Optical, chemical, morphological, and electrical measurements are performed to compare the performance of the transfer-laminated ternary devices with that of spin-coated ones. Further, device performances are characterized in terms of light energy harvesting (OPVs) and signal detection (OPDs), and the results reveal that the transfer-lamination can simultaneously achieve efficient energy harvesting (PCE of 17.25%) and light sensing performances (Detectivity of 4.21 × 1013 Jones). Therefore, applying the transfer-lamination to the ternary active layer can be considered a promising strategy for fabricating efficient next-generation organic optoelectronic devices. © 2025 Wiley-VCH GmbH.
