전립선 선암종의 p53과 E-cadherin 단백 발현에 관한 연구

초록

To evaluate the relationships with clinicopathologic factors such as age, histologic grade and serum PSA level, expression of p53 protein and E-cadherin protein were studied in 98 prostatic adenocarcinoma patients at Chung-Ang University Hospital. The patient consisted of 36 cases of the low grade adenocarcinoma and 62 cases of the high grade adenocarcinoma. The results were noted as follows: 1. p53 protein was expressed in 27.3% of low grade adenocarcinoma and 54.8% of high grade adenocarcinoma (p=0.013). There was a significant correlation between serum PSA level and the expression rates of p53 protein (p=0.015).But, it was not a significant difference according to age (p=0.087). 2. E-cadherin was expressed in 85.5% of low grade adenocarcinoma and 60.6% of high grade adenocarcinoma. Expression of E-cadherin protein in prostatic adenocarcinoma decreased according to histological grade (p=0.032) and serum PSA level (p=0.021). It was not a significant difference according to age as well (p=0.063). 3. Expression of p53 and down expression of E-cadherin coincided in 78.5% of tumors, and a significant correlation was found between p53 and E-cadherin status (p=0.015). These results suggested that the expression of p53 protein and down regulation of E-cadherin protein could be related to tumor differentiation and progression.
