위선암종에서 p53,p16,Rb 및 Cyclin D1 단백발현과 예후인자로서의 유용성

초록

The retinoblastoma(Rb)/cyclin D1/p16 pathway is an important constituent of cell cycle regulation. Perturbations in this pathway due to a variety of genetic aberrations have been reported in many human cancers. To evaluate relationships with clincipathologic factors, expression of p53, Rb, cyclin D1, and p16 protein were studied in 125 gastric adenocarcinoma patients who underwent gastrectomy at Chung-Ang university hospital. The patient cocaiated of 55 cases of the intestinal type and 70 cases of the diffuse type of gastric cancer by Lauren's classification, and 27 cases of early camcer and 98 cases of advanced cancer. The results were noted as follows: 1. p53 protein had a significantly higher expression in intestinal type than diffuse type, and in advenced cancer than early cancer. 2. p16 protein had a significantly higher expression in intestinal type than diffuse type(p=0.011), and in advenced cancer than early cancer. 3. Rb protein had a significantly higher expression in diffuse type than intestinal type. 4. Cyclin D1 protein had a significantly higher expression in intestinal type than diffuse type,and in advenced cancer than early cancer. 5. p53 protein had a significantly higher expression in death group than survival group. 6. There was a significant inverse relationship between p16 and Rb expression. These results suggested that p53 expression has a significant correlation with prognosis, and may play an important role in tumor cell proliferation. p16/cyclin D1/Rb protein were a significantly different expression according to histologic subtypes.
