한국 uTradeHub 서비스 현황과 전략 : 플랫폼 전략의 시사점을 중심으로

초록

The rise of the internet-based on-line shopping has brought about the efforts for the 'one click' settlement of the international trading. Korea started its policy initiative for the IT-enabled trade settlement system since the late 1990s. Pursuing the 'seamless platform', the Korean government and its related agencies have sustained the policy initiative for the IT-enabled trade settlement system. Recent studies have demonstrated the mixed results of the 'e-trade platform' so called the 'uTradeHub'. Contrary to the success stories in the media, the practitioners in the trade business do not actively rely on the 'uTradeHub' as 'e-trade platform'. This study attempts to provide some provocative questions regarding its limited effectiveness. Despite the recent development in the IT infrastructure, a variety of efforts to introduce 'e-trade platform' has failed. Unless the 'uTradeHub' takes the platform role in the international trade, it cannot accommodate various players in the physical distribution as well as the financial settlement process.
