초록

This paper aims to clarify the definition of Standard Korean Grammar for Korean Education as a foreign language and propose its content and range. Standard Korean Grammar for Korean Education is the grammar that works as a teaching criteria, and it is not only the norm but also the general and average grammar that reflects the actual usage of the Korean language. In accordance, Standard Korean Grammar for Korean Education should satisfy authenticity and educational usefulness as well as accuracy. Also, Standard Korean Grammar for Korean Education should combine theory of Korean linguistics and teaching practice, and should be categorized into separate parts in order to function as a educational grammar to Korean teachers. Moreover, further study and research on colloquial grammar, semantic and pragmatic information of lexicon and sentence based on Korean teachers’ attitude is necessary. Grammar of well-formed sentence is not enough to function as educational grammar; therefore, colloquial grammar based on actual usage is essential.
