The Correlation Between Serial Novels and Publications -A focus on Kim Seung-ok's “Ordinary woman” and “Weekly women”-

초록

Women's awareness and patriarchal ideology in the serialized novel “Ordinary Woman” in “Weekly women” show the level of women's awareness in Korean society around 1970. It has research value because it is related to patriarchal discourse. Continuous expansion of research is possible through expansion to other works, authors, and media. The purpose of this study is to determine how, in the novel text, the foundations of social values and awareness formation of Korean women in the 1960s and 1970s have been ideologicalized in the recognition of ordinary citizens. Kim Seung-ok's novel “Ordinary woman,” which was serialized in “Weekly women,” shows how women's liberal discourses were learned by women through storytelling. This novel contributed to the consolidation of women's social roles and values on the premise of patriarchal ideology through the setting of characters, spatial backgrounds, and the development of conflict. This reminds us of the need to reconsider the research value of a series of 1970s novels classified as popular novels.
