Root extension of generalized power series rings

Let (Formula presented.) be commutative rings with unity and let (Formula presented.) be torsion-free abelian monoids. We give a characterization of when the extension (Formula presented.) of monoid rings is a root extension. For torsion-free, (Formula presented.) -cancellative, strictly ordered abelian monoids (Formula presented.), we also give a characterization of when the extension (Formula presented.) of generalized power series rings is a root extension. © 2023 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
