경제적 의존도와 지역격차의 관계에 대한 연구: 서울과 인근지역을 중심으로

초록

The purpose of this study is first, to analyze the effect of economic dependency through commuting from its vicinity to Seoul, and second, to analyze whether this effect has changed over time (1995, 2000, 2005) and whether there has been any difference between 5 new town areas and 12 new residential development areas. This study measures economic dependency by the net ratio of commuting from its vicinity to Seoul's districts, and regional economic disparity was measured in three dimensions of income level, consumption level, and local government's fiscal capacity. In addition to economic dependency, this study includes various variables based on intrinsic growth model and external growth model in the OLS regression model as control variables. Summing up the results from various regression models, economic dependency on Seoul positively affects the regional disparity in terms of three dimensions of economic disparities in both 5 new town areas and 12 new residential development areas. However the degree of impacts of economic dependency on regional disparity has been changed over time and between areas. The findings imply that rather than simply emphasizing population dispersion through constructing new town or large scale residential development, it is necessary to develop various policies to establish commerce and manufacturing industries for matching jobs and residence in the town.
