결혼해체를 경험한 여성가구주의 빈곤과 사회적 배제에 관한 종단연구

초록

The major purpose of this study is to analyze poverty and social exclusion of female-headed households who experienced marital disruption and to examine the causes of them and to present an effective alternative policy for social problem of female-householders. The study used the pooling data of Korean Labor and Income Panel Study(1999-2006) and GEE and GLM regression model which were known as an appropriate method for the longitudinal data. The results show that the poverty and social exclusion of female-householders was getting seriously worse in the year of disruption and post-disruption in comparison with pre-disruption, and the degree of change was larger than that of male-householders. In the year of disruption, poverty gap of female-householders increased about two times larger than that of pre-disruption. Social exclusion which was grouped into five different dimensions of income, housing, employment, social participation and health, constantly increased from the year of disruption, as well. Then, the regression results show that each the time, sex, and education level had a significant effect to poverty status, poverty gap and social exclusion. Therefore, this study suggests that the future policy should be more associated with one for reducing these poverty and social exclusion of female-householder, which is an intervention from the year of disruption and expansion to employment related and women friendly policies from the only income focused support.
