The authors regret that a corrigendum has to be published to the protologues describing the species, Acetobacter oryzifermentans sp. nov. and Acetobacter ascendens sp. nov. Changes: 1 Because ‘Acetobacter ascendens’ is an elevation in rank, it was ‘sp. nov.’ and not ‘comb. Nov.’ and there is no basonym. Therefore, the words ‘comb. nov.’ after ‘Acetobacter ascendens sp. nov.’ or ‘A. ascendens sp. nov.’ in the title, abstract, main text, tables and protologues were deleted. In addition, ‘Acetobacter ascendens (Henneberg 1898); basonym, Acetobacter pasteurianus subsp. ascendens (Henneberg 1898) and Acetobacter pasteurianus subsp. paradoxus (Frateur 1950).’ in the protologue of Acetobacter ascendens was corrected to ‘Elevation in rank from Acetobacter pasteurianus subsp. ascendens Henneberg 1898 (Approved Lists 1980).’2 The abbreviation of Acetobacter, ‘A.’, was corrected to ‘Acetobacter’ in the protologues.3 In the etymology of Acetobacter oryzifermentans, ‘L. n. oryza, rice; N.L. part. adj. fermentans fermenting; N.L. adj. oryzifermentans’ was corrected to ‘L. fem. n. oryza, rice; L. pres. part. fermentans fermenting; N.L. part. adj. oryzifermentans’.4 The strain name of Acetobacter pomorum ‘LHT 2458T’ was corrected to ‘LTH 2458T’ in the main text and tables.The corrected protologues are below. Description of Acetobacter oryzifermentans sp. nov. Acetobacter oryzifermentans (o.ry.zi.fer.men'tans. L. fem. n. oryza, rice; L. pres. part. fermentans fermenting; N.L. part. adj. oryzifermentans rice-fermenting). The description is as given by Kim et al. [3]. The type strain is SLV-7T (=KACC 19301T =JCM 31096T), isolated from a Korean traditional rice vinegar. Description of Acetobacter ascendens sp. nov. Elevation in rank from Acetobacter pasteurianus subsp. ascendens Henneberg 1898 (Approved Lists 1980). The description is as given by De Ley and Frateur [1], Henneberg [2], Kim et al.
