이동전화와 시외전화 간 수요대체성에 관한 실증 연구: CES 효용함수를 이용한 대체탄력성의 추정

초록

This study conducts an empirical analysis to examine FMS(fixed-mobile substitution) between mobile and long-distance calls for 7 years from 2000 to 2006. It estimates elasticity of call substitution by users with CES utility function, not cross price elasticity of demand as previous studies relied upon. The result confirms significant elasticity of substitution both in the first(2000-2003) and in the second period(2004-2006). It finds a large part of substitution between mobile and long-distance calls in the first period explained by growing habit of mobile phone use, but magnitude of substitution getting weaker over time though. It also reveals long-distance calls falling into inferior good in the second period.
