초록
This study aimed to analyze the relationship between job autonomy and subjective well-being (life satisfaction and positive affect) among young adults in Korea. Additionally, it examined whether perceived control over future outcomes and perceived sense of free choice mediated this relationship. Data from the 2022 Comprehensive Survey on Youth were used, focusing on respondents aged 19 to 34 who were employed (N = 8,815). Multiple regression analysis and bootstrapping were used to test the mediating effects. The results indicated that job autonomy was positively associated with life satisfaction and positive affect. Hierarchical multiple regression models were constructed to explore the mediating effects of perceived control over future outcomes and perceived sense of free choice. The findings revealed that these two factors fully mediated the relationship between job autonomy and subjective well-being. The bootstrapping analysis further confirmed the significance of these mediating effects. These results suggest that job autonomy, as a social factor, influences overall life satisfaction and positive affect by enhancing individuals' psychosocial resources. Therefore, increasing job autonomy is important when developing strategies to improve the subjective well-being of young adults.
