초록

This study investigates how 3D projection mapping structures emotional induction and audience immersion in the outdoor media performance Disney Dreams! at Disneyland Paris. Focusing on three key sequences—Aladdin, The Lion King, and Tangled (Rapunzel)—the research develops an analytic framework consisting of (1) emotional induction devices, (2) space-based emotional staging, and (3) audience immersion experience. Using video capture and storyboard-based segmentation, each sequence is analyzed at the scene level in terms of the interaction among color, lighting, music, spatial composition, and narrative flow. The analysis reveals that 3D projection mapping, first, redefines the physical castle façade as a narrative space; second, organizes the emotional curve into a structure of rise–climax–release through multi-sensory combinations of color, lighting, music, fountains, and fireworks; and third, transforms the audience from mere observers into participants who experience emotions “inside” the spatialized imagery. These findings suggest that projection mapping functions not only as a visual effect technique but also as an emotional design medium that simultaneously configures emotion, space, and narrative. By providing a detailed case study of a theme-park media show, this research offers an analytic framework that can be applied to the design and evaluation of emotion-centered media performances.
