독성(Toxic, 毒性) 리더십: 문헌고찰 및 향후 연구방향 제시

초록

There are both positive and negative aspects of the leader's behavior. Many studies have focused on identifying effective leadership. There have been some studies that shed light on the negative aspects of leadership, but there is a wide gap between the quantity and quality compared to the positive aspects of research. The concept of negative leadership also needs to be studied on various types of harmful outcomes, but abusive supervision is becoming the dominant research topic. In order to have implications both theoretically and practically, it is necessary to study the various attributes of negative leadership in order to clearly identify the destructive behaviors and characteristics of leaders in organizations. Toxic leadership is a multidimensional concept that captures the important attributes of negative leadership as it is becoming more and more evident in society in recent years.Therefore, this study intends to consolidate the basis for future research by comprehensively analyzing empirical studies on toxic leadership up to now. The purpose of this study is to examine various conceptions of negative leadership discussed so far and to present the concept of toxic leadership which has been studied empirically. In addition, we examine the similarities and differences between the characteristics of toxic leadership and other negative leadership, and examine the conceptual originality and academic position of toxic leadership in the categories of negative leadership behaviors.It then comprehensively examined the preceding studies and presented the implications and future research directions of the toxic leadership study.Studies on toxic leadership provide lenses of various perspectives with insights that can more clearly draw the nature of leadership. Although the amount of research is limited, it will balance the biased leadership study on one side, and become a soil that can systematically carry out the toxic leadership study of multidimensional attributes in the future.
