초록

The importance of a port depends on its connectivity to transportation networks. Port investments aim to improve port infrastructure and superstructure systems, eventually attracting more shipping lines. While the existing literature on port connectivity focuses on the measurement and evaluation of port connectivity, few studies have investigated whether port investment contributes to port connectivity. Therefore, this study examines the impact of port investment on potential gains in port connectivity. From a financial perspective, this study validates the impact of stock investment on port connectivity and enriches research in this area. These results indicate that port investments play a significant role in enhancing port connectivity. This was achieved by constructing new docks and extending the length of existing production docks, leading to an improvement in port connectivity. Furthermore, the impact is more substantial in coastal ports than in inland river ports.
