시화지속협의회의 갈등조정 역할 평가:시화지구 개발사업을 중심으로

초록

The role of Shihwa Sustainable Development Council (SSDC) as a coordinator of conflict resolution has favorably been evaluated in the previous literature. The purpose of this paper is to objectively evaluate the merits and demerits of SSDC in terms of its roles in the Shihwa Area. The questionnaire survey and in-depth interviews are used in order to understand the difficulties and troubles while the council has tried to resolve various issues. These survey and interviews are conducted for people who have both positive and negative views on the development projects around Shiwa Area. The achievements and limitations of council since its establishment have been evaluated, and it is hoped that the findings of this research could provide a balanced views on the role of the council.
