헤게모니 정치 개념에 대한 비판적 검토: 김학노의 “아(我)와 비아(非我)의 헤게모니 투쟁론”을 중심으로

초록

This paper aims to critically review Kim Haknoh's concept of politics as “Hegemony struggle between us and non-us.” Hegemony struggle is a process of self-extension from a smaller-self to a larger-self as well as political integration by a hegemonic group. But, his concept tends to bring about conceptual confusion due to the polysemantic usage of the word "hegemony." It seems hard to argue persuasively that the hegemonic struggle practically builds up a subject formation. The result of elections does not always make rival groups integrate into a larger self. Furthermore, the problem is that the "intersubjective" integration of two Koreas, proposed as a ideal style by him, is not always desirable. Although he tried to newly conceptualize "politics" through the connotation extension of hegemony, his concept of hegemonic politics will become accepted as "power struggle" with the conceptual competency of hegemony lost. Finally, his concept seems to fall into a realistic concept of politics in spite of the merit of intersubjective politics.
