산업유산의 창의적 활용 방법으로서의 지속가능한 도시재생디자인

초록

The industrial facilities discarded as a result of industrial dilapidation have been considered to be the primary contributors to environment contamination and damage to the scenery. However, the industrial heritage has come into limelight as an important object of sustainable urban design from the standpoint of new value creation amid the expanded approach to such industrial facilities as important asset of urban development in the wake of paradigm change that has led to the perception that those industrial facilities represent historic relics and industrial heritage that have the value as cultural properties.This study was to understand the meaning of industrial heritage, sustainable and urban recycling, and imprint on our mind the role and importance through the analysis of the cases that apply the industrial heritage as sustainable urban recycling design. The elements through the correlation of the industrial Heritage utilization and sustainable urban regeneration design it based on utilization of industrial heritage.Based on this, selected 6 architectural structures and buildings which have been recycled since 2000 among the overseas industrial heritage in the form of typical single architectural form. The case analyses were conducted by categorizing the physical characteristics based on historicㆍsymbolic and economicㆍ environmental values and the morphological characteristics based on the maintenance, alternation, restoration, and expansion.The utilization of industrial heritage based on the results of this study leads to the harmony of the past, present, and future and creation of new space, and constitutes the concept or notion as the sustainable problem-solving methodology that can enhance the quality of our lives and urban culture. It was found that even greater synergic effects were created when the industrial heritage which has the historic value and identity as new space is linked to the substantiality and enables the urban recycling design.
