손창섭의 단편 애정 세태소설 속 결혼 모티프와 인물 연구 -「애정의 진리」, 「애정무효」, 「잊을 수 없는 과거」를 중심으로-

초록

A series of short love stories, 「The Truth of Affection」, 「The Nullity of Affection」, and 「The Unforgettable Past」 that were recently discovered show a relatively gradual transition between Son Chang-seop's early and later works. They have since formed the basis for confirming that the thematic characteristics of his later novels were already implied before the full-scale formal transformation appears. The value and meaning of these three novels can be revealed more clearly when they are dealt with from the perspective of Son Chang-seop's theory that goes beyond the individual works. In this way, Son Chang-seop's novels, 「The Truth of Affection」, 「The Nullity of Affection」, and 「The Unforgettable Past,」 need to be studied together to reveal the transformational aspects of his works in addition to the necessity of analyzing and researching each one individually. Therefore, this article focuses on the similarities and differences in the character setting and main motifs of these three novels. Herein, the significance of these similarities and differences in the genealogy of Son Chang-seop's later novels was confirmed. 「The Truth of Affection」, 「The Nullity of Affection」, and 「The Unforgettable Past」 are short stories published at a time when Son Chang-seop's publications shifted to a serial novel. You can find the main character setting, motif, and theme consciousness of Son Chang-seop's later novels in these three works, which is a great help in interpreting his later publications. After the publication of these novels, Son Chang-s eop continued to write pieces on the status of affection in his later works, which could be interpreted as criticisms and dismantling of the patriarchal system. Through a series of romance novels, he rejected the patriarchy as a social system and attempted to seek out alternatives.
