탈북자가 본 북한의 세대간 차이점과 유사점: 남한과의 비교를 중심으로

The present study examined similarities and differences between generations of North Korea using 66 defects of North Korea. Also, results obtained were compared to previous findings from samples of South Korea (Jung, 2001). Results indicated that there were clear-cut differences between the two generations in North Korea on the 6 value and 10 personality trait dimensions and in the negative attitudes toward 3 types of sexual misbehavior. The youth generation is oriented toward the Western value system, whereas the adult generation makes much of the indigenous values of Korean culture. This pattern of generation gap of North Korea is much similar to that of South Korea, although this gap tends to be more severe in South Korea. However, there was quite a similarity between the generations of North Korea in the negative evaluation of the status que of North Korea, like the case of South Korea. All of these findings were discussed with respect to cultural transformation and status quo of North Korea.
