초록
Due to the recent advancement of industrialization, environmental pollution has become more severe, leading to an increased emphasis on the importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors. The application and significance of ESG elements are being discussed across various sectors. However, there is also a growing prevalence of greenwashing, which highlights the need for the establishment of discernible ESG criteria. This study focuses on analyzing sustainable packaging design cases within the domestic food and beverage industry. Specifically, it narrows down its scope to the examination of sustainable food and beverage packaging designs released in the year 2021 by the top 30 listed food companies, as per the Financial Supervisory Service's ranking. The analysis primarily centers on their topical successan ESG perspective. The research methodology encompasses theoretical considerations of ESG, greenwashing, and the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) principles to provide an analytical framework. Five visual elements of packaging design (structural design, materials, printing, processing, ethical consumption) were analyzed, revealing the external components of sustainable packaging design that emphasize the creation of environmentally friendly value. The study underscores the variety of approaches that have been developed and proposed thus far. By primarily analyzing success cases within major listed food companies, it identifies key characteristics that have influenced improvements in awareness and perception. These foundational insights will serve as a basis for future studies proposing evaluation indicators for ESG packaging design.
