A Study on Relationship among Perceived Quality and Perceived Outcome of the Local Festival, and Public Relations

초록

This study aims at figuring out effects of perception of local festival on the local government-public relations and effecting paths between perceptions of local festival quality and outcome and the local government-public relations. For this study, the questionnaire survey was conducted on the citizens of Jeonju City. Structural Equation Model(SEM) was employed as a main analytical method. The result of SEM is as follows. First, higher perception of local festival quality increased perception of local festival outcome. Second, higher perception of local festival outcome increased the local government-public relations. Third, although perception of local festival quality shows high, it appeared to be not directly influenced on the local government-public relations. For the analysis of these results, local citizens recognize how to hold local festivals, make a decision on formation of the local government-public relations by local festival outcome rather than results of perception of local festival quality. In other words, local citizens participated passively in the civic-led festival, playing dual roles as visitor of the festival and local resident at the same time. Accordingly, they formed the local government-public relations focusing on the outcome of festival as local citizens rather than objective evaluation on the festival itself.
