동영상 자료를 활용한 과학 활동이 유아의 과학적 흥미와 과학 개념 발달에 미치는 영향

초록

This study investigated the effects of utilizing video clips to support science activities in the field of natural exploration of Nuri Curriculum on young children’s scientific interests and scientific concepts. For this purpose, an experimental group of 17 five-year-old children and a comparative group of 17 five-year-old children were selected from K kindergarten in D city, and the science activities were conducted for 16 times. The young children in the experimental group participated in video-based science lessons whereas the control group received photograph-based instructions. The results of this study were as follows; First, the post-test scores of scientific interests of the experimental groups were higher than those of the comparative group, and the score difference was statistically significant. However, there was no statistically difference in the post-test scores of scientific concept tests between the two groups. Second, the analysis of the drawings which were drawn after the science activities showed that the young children of the experimental group could draw more complete pictures by sketching various shapes, in detail, and painting with multiple colors than those of the comparative group. The results of the research suggest that video clips are efficient instructional media for science activities in early childhood education.
