사진치료 관점에서 바라본 뇌전증과 사진 표현 연구 : 작품 <채집,본>을 중심으로

This paper analyzes the photographic series of < Picking Specimen >, a photographic representation of anxiety stemming from the author’s experience of epilepsy, from the perspective of phototherapy, and explores how the act of creating < Picking Specimen > is related to anxiety relief. Author was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2016 and spent a lot of time adjusting to treatment. the first thing that comes to mind is medication, which focuses on calming seizures. However, the anxiety that comes with adjusting to epilepsy should be addressed, not eliminated, through medication. To address this anxiety, Author created a photographic representation of the sensations experienced during the invisible precursors of an epileptic seizure. Phototheraphy is a method author chose because it involves the projection of an internal world into the real world viewed through a camera, which is consistent with my desire to understand the underlying anxiety of the epileptic experience. Author then analyzed the work from a phototherapy perspective. The series < Picking Specimen > is a work that creates a biological form of epilepsy. It was an attempt to find relief by making a concrete form of an unknown disease and identifying its characteristics. In addition, Author was able to immerse himself in the process of making the work to the point where author forgot about the anxiety caused by the seizures. From this, we can conclude that the progression of the series helps to relieve the anxiety caused by epileptic seizures.
