한ㆍ중 국가대표 선수들의 은퇴의식 비교 연구

초록

The purpose of this study is to identify the awareness level and current status of the retirement policy for athletes in each different system by comparison of awareness about the retirement of the national team members in Korea and China. In this study, we conducted an in-depth interview with each five active national team members of table tennis in Korea and China. According to the result, the result is as followings. First, it indicated that awareness about the retirement included aware about their retirement and awareness about the program of retired athletes. Second, it indicated that awareness about the retirement policy included awareness about the presence of the retirement policy and evaluation about the retirement policy. Therefore, we suggested that we need to expand the range of beneficiaries to address retirement issues of most regular athletes (welfare policies such as the establishment of a basic competencies improvement program to enter the business world, and unemployment insurance), and we demonstrated that it was desirable that current central sports administrative agency intensively addresses all the tasks related to the retirement policy as an agency in charge of retirement issues for athletes.
