포스트휴먼과 지능 담론(4) : ‘몸’에서 시작하기

초록

In this paper, we tried to examine a part of posthumanism focusing on the human body. We divided the thesis into ‘body to be improved’ and ‘body to be expanded’. The body to be improved shows transhumanism more clearly. Between disabled and non-disabled, we looked at how the discourse on technology surrounding the removal of disability is formed and the reality. Regarding the ‘body to be expanded’, the relationship between the human perception and the body due to the development of technology was studied. Human perception goes beyond the physical limit of the body. As McLuhan said, technology is embodied. And as technology advances, humans evolve too. By emphasizing perception in this process, the body is no longer needed. However, the human body is an object to be enlarged. This justification isdue to the fact that post-humanism is not a discourse about human mechanization. Posthumanism is the new humanism. This humanism is not formed around a single discipline. Science, engineering, and the humanities work together to create a new humanities. And the starting point of the discussion is not the concerns about machines, but the human body and consciousness thatwill evolve in the future.
