Happy Consciousness and Organistic Happiness

초록

In this paper, I try to present a new concept of happiness. It would be argued that the consciousness of happiness, or “feeling happiness and satisfaction,” aims for continuous satisfaction, or fullness because humans are organistic beings with their own purposes and activities of self-satisfaction. According to this, the happiness or happy consciousness that humans want is “the feeling of satisfaction that they continue to pursue throughout their lives for life as an organic body” or “the self-fulfilling feeling of an organic body.” Human organism seeks to live in various ways to be able or able to feel this satisfaction continuously. However, traditional concepts of happiness define the meaning of happiness based on human independent special functions or abilities. There is a limit to finding out the meaning of happiness we want through such human understanding. To clarify this point, I critically examine and evaluate Aristotle and Kant’s views on happiness, especially based on the rational-centered view of human beings.
