해방기 문인들의 이데올로기와 현실인식의 갈등 양상-‘미국’에 대한 형상화와 인식의 변화를 중심으로-
초록
This study sought to explore major Korean literary figures to examine how they perceived America in the Korean Liberation era when Korea was moving forward to create a new nation after being liberated from the Japanese colonial rule. Representative literary figures in the Korean Liberation era include Yu Hang-nim, Im Hwa,and Yeom Sang-seop, and this study examined how their perception of America was connected with the world's perception in the Liberation era. The first anti-American novel "Gae (dog)" by Yu Hang-nim (1946) was examined to explore how the US army replaced the Japanese imperialism. He thus discussed and criticized the pattern of the colonial unconsciousness shaping America, a new enemy. Im Hwa first viewed America from the realistic viewpoint, and then moved on to an ideological viewpoint. He criticized America in South Korea as the anti-democracy crusade, and moved to build a people nation based on the people democracy line. His poetry collection "Changa (eulogy)" (1947) underwent a "penning woe" in the era of the US army military government in Korea, causing him to embrace great hostility against America. Yeom Sang-seop's novel "Western Cake Gap" (1948) described the pattern in which the nationalistic emotion and the critical perception of external forces conflicted with each other in the real world. Appearing in the novel are Yeongsu who has a critical perception of America, Bobae who is attracted by American culture, and Yeongsu's wife who takes the realistic attitude in struggling to continue her life. He thus disclosed the power of America, and raised the subsequent human ethical problems. The Korean figures' perception of America in the Liberation era shows the pattern of the order of Cold War being built up in Korean Peninsula, which was oscillating between the people passion for building a people nation and the American governance through the ideological order. They, facing up with a new governance system, superimposed Japanese imperialism and America, and hoped for the subjectivity of people. They also even took the subjective attitude of examining their destiny as they, as the weak, faced up with the powerful.
