The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, alleviating or treating cachexia and muscle loss. The present invention relates to a composition containing a Paeonia lactiflora extract as an active ingredient, and more particularly, to a composition containing a Paeonia lactiflora extract as an active ingredient, which alleviates appetite deficiency, weight loss, muscle loss and fatigue and inhibits hematopoietic toxicity, and thus can be effectively used for preventing, alleviating or treating cachexia and muscle loss.
