The present invention relates to a composition for inhibiting angiogenesis comprising neo-N-methylsansalvamide (NMSSV) which is a cyclic pentadepsipeptide as an active ingredient. Specifically, sincethe NMSSV of the present invention has excellent activity of inhibiting angiogenesis-related cell migration and tube formation and inhibits angiogenesis induced by a vascular endothelial growth factorin a concentration-dependent manner, the present invention is expected to be put to good use for angiogenesis inhibition and put to good use as a therapeutic agent for various diseases in which angiogenesis is abnormally regulated.
