신조어에서 나타나는 어형 변화의 한 양상 - 정도부사 ‘캡(<Captain)>캐>개’의 변화를 중심으로 -
초록
Recently, various new words have been introduced in the use of degree adverbs in the Korean language. For example, ‘It’s fun’ is used in ways where it is described by various degree adverbs, such as ‘It’s jjang (best) fun’, ‘It’s wang (king) fun’, ‘It’s gae fun’, ‘It’s haek(nuclear) fun’. The degree adverbs used in these expressions are neologisms that are not registered in the dictionary. This research takes interest in the degree adverb ‘gae’ and attempts to investigate how this degree adverb came about. In this study, the neologism ‘gae’ is thought to come from the expression ‘kaep’, originating from the English word ‘Captain’, changing into ‘kae’ and then ‘gae’. To explain this process, the phonological, grammatical, and meaning characteristics of ‘kaep’, ‘kae’, and ‘gae’ were comprehensively examined.
