A case of nesidioblastosis causing hypoglycaemia after delivery

Nesidioblastosis is a rare cause of adult-onset hyperinsulinaemic hypoglycaemia. We describe a case of nesidioblastosis during pregnancy in a woman receiving medical nutrition therapy for suspected gestational diabetes. However, nesidioblastosis was undiscovered until the development of hypoglycaemia after delivery, being previously masked by pregnancy-related changes in insulin sensitivity. © 2008.
