정보그림책 만들기 활동이 유아의 설명적 텍스트이해와 쓰기 발달에 미치는 영향

초록

The objectives of this study were to develop an information book-making activity (IBA) and to examine its effects on children's understanding of expository text and their writing development. A total of 48 five-year-old children attending D Kindergarten located in Dae-gu, South Korea were selected for this study. They were divided into experimental (25 children) and comparison (23 children) groups. Children in the experimental group were instructed to read information books on daily topics as provided in the Nuri curriculum for 5-year-olds and then create information books. In the comparative group, the children were instructed to read narrative picture books on daily topics as provided in the Nuri curriculum for five-year-olds and then make picture books as extension activities. The results suggest that IBA had a positive influence on the children’s understanding of expository text and writing competence. These results suggest that an information book-making activity is an effective instructional technique that can facilitate the development of young children’s understanding of expository text and writing competence.
