일터학습 연구의 평생교육적 의미에 대한 고찰

초록

Work is an important activity for individual learning that expands toward social dimension. Workplace is a place of activity in which individual learner develop him/herself as a worker and individual learning consists and transcends socially. The study of work and learning is required to find out intersection of individual learning and social life, which deserves an important research area in lifelong learning. This study aims at review how workplace learning theories have developed and explore the significance of lifelong education perspective on workplace learning researches. For this purpose, theories of workplace learning were briefly reviewed. First of all, behavioral approaches to workplace learning emphasize individual learning to perform work, and the study of expertise and informal learning theories contributed to the development of workplace learning. Also the theories based on socio-cultural perspectives such as situated learning, community of practice, and activity theory focused on social context of learning and workplace environment as socio-cultural condition and interactions of both. These perspectives also reflects different relationship of work and learning. This work reviews various relationships supposed in the relationship of work and learning and research implications. Finally this study suggests future researches such as; social meaning of workplace as a learning site, inclusion/exclusion in workplace learning discourses, and exploration of relationships of work and individual life history in order to understand learning of individual and group through work.
