18세기 향촌 문화와 반구옹의 <영언십이장> 종장 고찰 -통사구조와 의미기능을 중심으로-

초록

This study examines Ban Gu-ong's <Yeongeonsipijang> with focus on the sentence structure and semantic function of the end verse of Sijo (an ancient Korean poetry genre) which is distinguished from the initial and middle verses. In order to grasp Sijo's sincerity and ultimately understand Sijo, we need to focus on the unification of poetic context, the transformation of poetic idea, and conclusion. However, what is more important than this is the end verse of Sijo. The significance of this study is that it examines the sentence characteristics and semantic function of each meter of Sijo's final verse composed of 4 metres, while there are not many studies in this regard. First of all, this study skipped the full discussion of the first metre of the final verse because we studied the conversion pattern of the poetic idea of the text through the previous research. The second meter was seen as the preceding object or cause of the third meter where Sijo's theme appears. To this end, the second meter, unlike the rest of the metres, appears to be an excessive meter, which is considered to have a unique meaning in terms of so-called sceneization and targeting. The third meter is a place where the speaker has a central will to expose through his work. In particular, in the third meter, the structure of a short front and long end is reversed to the structure of a long front and short end, which is seen as a kind of mechanism for preparing the conclusion of the poetic image while revealing the will of the poetic speaker. Finally, the fourth meter is where the poetic image is terminated. As such, in this text, its type is divided into two types: exclamation type and will type. This is meaningful in relation to the specificity of the rural area of the 18th century in which the author worked.
