EPS 단열재 업계 CEO의 기초역량과 지속가능 경영성과에 관한 실증연구: 혁신경영 역량의 매개효과를 중심으로

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) insulation manufacturing industry face increasing demands for regulatory compliance and environmental sustainability, necessitating robust core competencies from their CEOs. This study centers on domestic manufacturers of EPS insulation and sandwich panels, emphasizing the importance of fire prevention and product assessment in achieving sustainable practices. Data were collected via a survey conducted from March to June 2024, with a sampling frame that included the Korea Fire Door Association, the Korea Metal Panel Industrial Cooperative, the Korea Fireproof Building Materials Association, and the Korea Foamed Plastics Cooperative. A random sampling approach was used to ensure unbiased results, yielding 155 valid responses analyzed with BM SPSS Statistics 26.0. The findings reveal that, first, innovation management capability did not have a significant mediating effect between information-gathering capability and sustainable business performance. Second, innovation management capability also did not mediate the relationship between social capability and sustainable business performance. However, third, innovation management capability was a significant mediator between business planning capability and sustainable business performance. This study offers a valuable theoretical foundation for specialized SMEs in the EPS insulation sector to enhance sustainable outcomes. Practical implications based on these findings are provided to support EPS industry SMEs in optimizing their business practices for improved sustainability.
